Week 12:
Fasting
Week 12:
Fasting
Thursday, February 10, 2011
“Similar to prayer, fasting is a powerful means of connecting with God, but it is intended to be done privately, away from the praise of man. As we continue to be transformed by the indwelling of the Spirit, we ought to seek less and less praise from our religious activity.”
Very few people still practice fasting. This traditional and Jesus-endorsed discipline of the Christian faith seems to have been merged out of our indulgent way of life. Is fasting a worthwhile practice? Why should we do it? What can it accomplish? How does it fit within the framework of inward transformation? Join in as WCS Superintendent John Foreman teaches us about fasting’s place in our lives as a legitimate practice.
